The 17
      goals

for sustainable development

Sustainable consumption behaviour for one’s own wardrobe is one way to do something for a better future as an individual.

In order for the world’s population to live sustainably in peace and prosperity, the UN General Assembly adopted 17 goals in 2015, which include 169 sub-goals.

These goals are to be pursued and fulfilled by individuals, but above all also by associations, institutions and states. After all, sustainability affects all areas of our lives. Social progress is not possible without taking planetary boundaries into account. The goals combine the social, ecological and economic dimensions of sustainability and thus link the fight against poverty with the protection of our natural resources.

“The 2030 Agenda with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a global plan to promote sustainable peace and prosperity and protect our planet. Since 2016, all countries have been working to translate this shared vision to fight poverty and reduce inequalities into national development plans. In doing so, it is particularly important to address the needs and priorities of the most vulnerable populations and countries – because only if no one is left behind can the 17 goals be achieved by 2030.”
